I'm in need of my watchers' advice.
Some of you have been following me since I joined in 2003, some of you have followed me in the following years, and some have only recently joined. I can't express how happy I am with this community and my watchers. You truly are wonderful, and that is why I'm asking for your thoughts.
My art has wavered, altered, and changed a lot since I joined in 2003. I find I'm at a new peak lately (and surely it will keep progressing), but I find myself surprised each time an old piece of mine (such as the Silent Hill calendars) keep getting favs. While I'm certainly flattered, I don't really know how to feel about it. It's such old works and honestly, I don't really see them as "good" anymore. They're interesting in that you can see the progress though....
Although I do get slightly annoyed when someone posts a critic on those old pieces. While the people who post these critics are only looking forward to helping me, sadly, it doesn't help at all because there's nothing for me to work on. Not to mention, I feel like I'm wasting their time. I'd hate to sound like an artist who cannot take critic when it's not the case at all. I'd much rather have people critic my newest pieces then 7 year old pieces I'll never work on again... See what I mean?
So what do you guys think? Do you think I should remove the pieces of the past and keep the newest ones? Or do you feel they're an important part of my gallery?
